Purpose of Expedition
To determine the chemical content of 80,000 year old water by analyzing ice melt on the Mendenhall Glacier. It was proposed by students that possible causes of current diseases (both cancers and infectious diseases that lead to chronic adverse conditions) seen in the human population are caused from chemical impurities in water.
